I'm assuming the Straight Feed, Straight Traverse, and Arc Feed call backs are primarily for doing a run-time toolpath display, right? Are they really useful for anything else?

BTW - Why do some of the callbacks occur multiple times with identical data? Are they just issued on time-interval basis?

That is correct.  They actually happen when Interpreted not when "run" by the tool. Not really.

Not sure what you mean.  No they are not issued on a time interval.  Some long motions are broken into pieces.  For example if we want to stay buffered 2 seconds ahead then we wouldn't want to have a single vector take 2 minutes to execute.

I also use the callbacks for updating the highlighted line of G-code in the editor window.
